Quilt Shams or Pillow Shams are decorative fabric coverings for pillows. They are often designed with flanges, ruffles, or cording. Pillow Shams should not be confused with pillow cases for sleeping on. Shams are typically placed behind the sleeping pillows when the bed is made up and add a decorative accent to the bedroom.

Shams typically come in two sizes: Standard and European. Standard shams are typically rectangular in shape and fit standard/queen size pillows. European shams are typically square in shape.
